Works great. Some sites are allergic to it, and won't work without accepting/declining cookies manually. Other than that perfect. Just sad that the project seems abandoned :S
Please resurrect. We can't even pay you RN.
Seems to be dead
Me ha encantado
Fonctionne 1 fois sur 5
Replaces cookie pop-ups with its own pop-up
Barely used it for a day and I still have a lot of cookie pop ups There's definitely better ones out there
The app just adds it's own banners to every webpage asking for money
pretty horrible. as said by other reviewers it add it own popups. extremely annoying.injury to insult. dont install. I reinstalled it to be able to post this review but will uninstall it rite away. (Un)fortunately there is a great demand for such a feature so grab the opportunity!
The addon does kind of work, but in certain websites It makes the popup disapear, but the left click does not work, because the website is waiting for you to click on the popup. Once I figured out that this extension was responsible for the issue I decided to remove it, and go back to clicking the popups.
I have used this extension for quite a while, but it is getting worse and worse. It used to work reasonably, but nowadays it screws up a lot of websites, rendering them unusable. Reporting a particular site had no effect, no response from devs. I've also used the Firefox variant, but it is even worse as I cannot disable for a tab there. In chrome I can at least disable per tab.
It does nothing. I still have to manually reject all and save, and close, and yadda yadda yadda, before I read the info I was searching for on any random, arbitrary search engine, huh, search.
- I am not against supporting development of useful extensions, but the devs haven't allowed a "one time donation" (even if expiring in 1 year), that's a mistake. - On an extension such as this it's not to be considered "Premium" the ability to whitelist. Firefox has that ability in its prefs so this is addressing only the continued laziness of Google Chrome devs. A maintained blacklist, advanced cookies filters, analyzer and auto-deletion could be premium features - Out of the box isn't useful at all since users can block all cookies using Browsers prefs - Messes up sites when it's on, therefore can't work without a whitelist feature Good idea and effort. Not viable for me. Uninstalled. PS: Furthermore a subscription model on an extension such as this (with many options available including starting to use other browsers altogether) it's not a very smart move. It must try to monetize on world-wide adoption hence using donationware/on-time as default (can still add subscription) could lead to more profitability. That is provided it works and provided the ability to go premium doesn't go offline (stating the message in quotes below) because while it's surely possible to experience temporary issues, that doesn't inspire any trust especially when that temporary looks permanent "Error – Ninja Cookie Premium Ninja Cookie is currently experiencing technical difficulties with the activation of the Premium subscription. We are working to solve them. Premium subscriptions and payments are currently suspended." Note to Google Play Store devs: When users wrote a review once they must be able to edit even after uninstalling the extension without forcing them to temporary re-install the extension over and over if wanting to amend their reviews... not that Google Play Store devs will ever read this or do something about it. Because if they listened, Chrome would already be a better product than it is today needing far less extensions (including this) as such features would have already been built-in
Doesn't actually reject cookies, creates its own popup you have to pay for to remove, bricks certain sites
I don't think it rejects cookies. I think it only hides the cookies pop-ups because I see it for a fraction of a second on sites where this extension supposedly rejected cookies. On top of that, there are annoying pop-ups related to buying premium for this extension. All of this I could live with. But, it also completely breaks some websites. Google search results, for example: after the you enter your search, the page that is usually populated with the results of that search is now completely empty. No amount of refreshing brings the results back. The only way I've found is to disable the extension. This happens with many other sites. There is no way to disable the extension permanently by opening the extension settings (it seems to be a paid feature!). So you have to open your extensions manager and disable it. More trouble than it's worth. Uninstall.
Aside from adding its own nagging pop-ups, which is very annoying, it also bricks the Google front page by blocking the Google apps dropdown menu!
The whole point of using this extension is to avoid annoying popups so why does it then add its own annoying popups?
Very nice concept: open source, ad-free and donation-based business model, and accepting only the technically required cookies. Unfortunately, it just does not work for me. It blocked like 10% of the websites that I use. I sent some bug reports.
Breaks many many pages, the extension-specific site list is tiny (so almost all banners are just hidden instead of being set up) and the extension hasn't seen any updates for a year. Avoid.
Spamming notifications to purchase premium. It works 40% of the time, otherwise it's breaking the website making them unusable.
Works just like described
Actually adds its own popups, defeats the purpose
This app will not work unless you give it permission to read your browsing history. Browsing history can include unique identifiers and sensitive information which are often included as parameters in URL's such as your email address, usernames, etc. I find it difficult to see genuine reason as to why the developers insist on being able to read people's browsing history, as this information could be used in malicious ways. Perhaps they are selling this information on to other parties or something of this nature.
Don't use it! It block essential information (on registry). You can have serious trouble using this piece of nightmare.
Don't download this shi*t, only is spam, i prefered the Cookies.
I have the Premium edition but Ninja Cookie is not better than the other Plugins: • Very often, Ninja Cookie blocks the visited website. You will not ba able to do anything. Solution: add the website url to the ignore-list of Ninja Cookie (the premium "whitelist" feature) • Often websites asks you to configure the cookie settings My proposal: wait 9 Month and thest Ninja Cookie again.
It is so cute and helpfull
Unfortunately it's rather buggy and one can't disable it on sites where it doesn't work
I was interrested in this "Ninja Cookie" extension because I do care about cookies! I only want the "essential" cookies with "legitimate interest" auto accepted. So I tried "Ninja Cookie" instead of "I don't care about cookies". But looking in the settings I can see that Ninja cookie rules have only about 25-50 rules! And the majority of rules comes from "I don't care about cookies - 20563 rules" and "Easylist Cookie". So it actually does the same as the other extensions??
It´s an okej app, goood enough for me to pay for it. With that said PLEASE fix so it does not nag you about premium when you already have premium, otherwise I will opt out when the time paid for is over. Except for that I do love the app, but I cant seem to report pages with cookie pop ups that the app misses. If you solve the firts one and keep working on having to many slipping through - I will happily continue paying for get such clean webpages nowdays :)
This app is great, got it because I was fed up of going through every option to disable all cookies while gathering sources for my academia, at the time of this review NC has dealt with 24 cookies and saved me at least 10 minutes. As they develop and upgrade it can only get better. I would love to see and Iphone app someday. Only issue that I have noticed is when the site has multiple tabs to go through on a cookie pop up, NC has only completes the initial tab although this is not on every site.
different websites are not usable after installing the addon. some scrollbars will be not available and/or the site is frozen and no login features are working. no thanks
it blocks the cookie popups but shows it's own about premium subscription. useless
So far so good. It does exactly what it says it does. I was a little worried by some of the reviews, but up until now it's blocking the cookies and no functionality from any site has been affected. I hope my experience continues like this.
