Took a while to find but this one is the BEST for Edge that has vertical tabs on an OLED screen. This theme has top bar and tabs bar blacked out while focused tab can still get distinguished by lighter text color.

I just installed it and it does not work in incognito mode as described.

I've discovered the solution: use Firefox just for incognito mode. Configure Firefox to always come up in incognito mode, and install GF-S Tamayori Blue 08 theme... dark tabs, white text, active tab has a light blue border. We need Chrome for many "business" web sites, but not for incognito work.

It was good while it lasted, but Google has decided that user customization is a thing of the past and removed the ability to use themes in incognito. Rest in Peace sweet prince.

It was super nice of you to take the time to explain that Google is disabling incognito themes and how to get around it (at least for now)! Like everyone else said in the comments, the dark theme incognito tabs have too little contrast to make it easy to find which tab is in focus. People shouldn't have to squint to find their active tab. My eyes thank you. It boggles the mind that Google doesn't get the message and change the contrast. Their own logo is so colorful. I get it that it's cute to make incognito dark, like a spy undercover. But really, a lighter grey on the background of the active tab would go a long way to making it so much easier on the eyes.

If it's not working, try: Type chrome://flags/ in address bar. Search for "Enable Incognito brand consistency in desktop.", set it to "disabled".

It did not work for my version of chrome on win 7 - Version 96.0.4664.45 (Official Build) (64-bit) It had no effect on incognito mode but did change theme of normal mode. .So is a fail.

Where is the uninstall option? Nevermind. Chrome removes it automatically after you close it. I pity all the losers who install before reading the comments. And then leave a review asking for help. Lol.

I just added this to chrome, but I notice I cannot find this extension in my manage extension list? If it's not there I can't remove it? Maybe it requires me to reboot chrome for it to appear?

Close, but still not totally black. Taskbar is grey when you click on it and the area at the top to the right of tabs is with greyish tints, not black. Fiddle, please make a new theme with black active taskbar & black area to the right of the tabs. There is no need for any lines or anything else to differentiate taskbar from other areas. Just make a plain black background for everything. No other colors, no lines, no differentiations, no nothing. Thanks. If there's someone who knows a true black theme, please let me know.
