cool in general, a bit abruptly when it pops up in the UI but ok; it would be great if you could add an exception list for websites to disable the extension for them

Good replacement for Google's discontinued dictionary that easily shows the definitions of a double clicked word on webpages. Word prefer an option for a dark theme. One website I know that doesn't work is Google Chrome store for some reason, I don't know why.

I came here because google chrome disabled MV2 extensions and so the Google Dictionary is unsupported. But the claim better than Google Dictionary is simply wrong as there is no shortcut like Alt+G to search from anywhere. (This is must for me). Other than that the ability to change font, background color, or different layouts (like concise mode) would be a great feature.

The extension doesn't work with PDF files. If you open PDF file via Chrome, then the extension doesn't work, I have activated the option "Allow access to file URLs", but just doesn't work in PDF files I'd greatly appreciate fixing the issue

Double clicking is not working. it's not showing anything. Reinstalled it but still same. Ver. 20.5 EDIT: Now working fine again

It pops up and blocks other popups, and there is no "X" close button in the top right corner to close it so we can see the other smaller popups. There needs to be a close button or there should be a way to drag/move it to a different location so we can see the smaller popups that this extension is on top of.

Used to work well, but now the popup will not open at all on clicking extension icon in the bar.

When it actually has the definition to a word I'm looking up, the definition is often incomplete (if a better dictionary has 5 definitions for a word, this extension might only show 2). But the most common situation I face when using this extension is that it doesn't recognize the word at all. Words that are spelled correctly. Relatively common words. It won't matter. It doesn't have them. It also doesn't have any ability to attempt word-matching in case a word is spelled slightly wrong. And god forbid a word ends in "ing" or "s" etc. If the word is not in its base form, this extension won't know what to do with it.

I like it. It would be a five start extension if the voice improved. It has gotten better and I am grateful but it still sound robotic compared to other extension. This gives more information on words that's why I keep using. Thank you for your work and this has amazing potential.

Can I set which dictionary I want to use? Maybe I want to use Oxford or Stanford Dictionary? Maybe Webster's from a certain year?

DOESNT WORK ANYMORE. Instant Dictionary by GoodWordGuide.com was once a good addon to replace already dead google dictionary. But now it doesnt work at all. Their site says "Error: Server Error The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request. Please try again in 30 seconds." and this is for past 6 months. Do visit their site which they have highlighted here "https://www.goodwordguide.com/" and you'll see same. Majority of times popup doesnt show meaning or is limited to some sites. Plus I cant see how to change tts voice it uses, the one it uses is horrible. I hope dev reads reviews and analyze issues accordingly. Will wait for one more month before I uninstall and report this not working addon.

About 80% I get an error that says "Server Error" making the extension completely useless. I'm sick of it. Uninstalling.

Please add double-click on the pop-up itself also for another pop-up. You could also include antonyms. Rest all dandy.

Better than google dictionary. It gives more than one definition and some synonyms. Take for example the word "post". This word have many definition but google only give the one (noun) definition about it being a timber used to support something, while this extension is a little bit better in that it gives two definitions, a noun and a verb, and plus synonym words.

Since Google Dictionary stopped working, I've been looking for one to replace all it's functions. This one is very good but the only things it doesn't do is translate words from other languages or phrases. It would be great if it could give the translation from Google Translate when you select a foreign-language word or a phrase. Edit: For anybody else looking for a Google Dictionary replacement, I just spent most of my day downloading different extensions and my favourite was "Rememberry" because like Google Dictionary, it gives you definitions, word translations and phrase translations at the same time and it does it pretty smoothly. But if you don't need something to look up whole phrases, this one is perfect

Hey man, great extension, if you could fix the bug that doesn't allow the definition to come up when a space is highlighted I would use it for a longer time. Here's an example: HIGHLIGHT(SPACE) <-- Highlighted/double-clicked this, doesn't work. HIGHLIGHT <-- I have to manually click and drag my cursor to the end of the word without the space for it to work. Thanks :)

I just installed it on the latest version of Chrome and it does not work.

After I reinstalled chrome it does not work anymore! .. Just realized that it was another extension that caused this problem. removed that and everything is fine now!

Great tool which provides details as well (e.g. pronunciation) FEEDBACK: Could you revise the content of "Download history" file so that it also includes the meaning of the listed (searched) words. In that way a file would be more complete and fit for purpose. Thanks

dictionary limited same as google dictionary (medical words). cannot look up definition of word in the pop up definition, which google dictionary can do.

I love it but plz add the feature to "provide definition for within definition words" when selected.!

It was good, but it broke the comments feature in Google Docs. I couldn't click on comments forms to add or answer comments, the clicked moved away, very annoying.
