**IMPORTANT NOTICE** It is still possible to use this extension, you have to just reinstall it in chrome manually (not via the chrome store) here are the steps below: If you find this information helpful, give it a thumbs up below so other people are more likely to see it aswell PREPERATION STEPS: 1. type "chrome://flags/" without the speech marks into your address bar 2. type in the search bar at the top "Allow legacy extension manifest versions" 3. select enabled on the option that appears, this will allow the next steps to work 4. relaunch chrome INSTALLATION STEPS 1. on the chrome web store go to the CRX viewer page and install the extension, this extension allows you to download the extension directly to your downloads folder, here is the link: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/chrome-extension-source-v/jifpbeccnghkjeaalbbjmodiffmgedin 2. once CRX viewer is installed, come back to the Cookie AutoDelete chrome web store page page and 'right click' anywhere in the page, you will now see an option saying "view extension source" with the CRX logo next to it, click that 3. you will be taken to a new page with some code on it, dont worry you dont need to do anything with the code, just click the "download" button in the top right of the page 4. this will download a zip folder and sometimes also a .crx file to your downloads folder (or wherever your default download location is) you can delete the .crx file, it is not needed. unzip the the zip folder and then place it in a safe place on your computer so you dont lose it, this folder will need to stay on your pc for the extension to work 5. in chrome, from any page, click the three dots in the top right hand corner of the window, go down to the extensions folder, and click the manage extensions option 6. in the top right hand corner you will see a toggle for 'developer options' click this 7. you should now see additional options in the top left, including one labelled "load unpacked" click this, this is how we are going to reinstall the extension into chrome. Navigate your way to the folder you saved your chrome extension in, in this case 'Cookie AutoDelete' and click the folder, make sure its the folder containing all the files and you dont select a folder within this folder, the folder you want to click should be one containing the 'manifest.json' file 8. now just hit select folder in the window and it will load this extension to your chrome browser manually 9. if you have a backup of all your settings you can reimport them, otherwise you will have to start fresh Note: this will work for any chrome extension that has been blocked by chrome in the recent update, not just Cookie AutoDelete, other extensions such as uBlock Origin can also be reinstalled with this method Note 2: If you found this information helpful, give it a thumbs up below so other people are more likely to see it aswell

This is a great extension. It does exactly what I want it to and no other extension comes close. I had to say FU and goodbye to chrome for making this great extension unusable. Hello Firefox!

Amazing extension. I used over the years to take control of my online data. I want to enable cookies only on websites that I trust and I use frequently. Now that Google is banning this extension I don't feel safe browsing with Chrome anymore.

Quando uma extensão funciona perfeitamente, parece que a Google não gosta e diz que tem problema de segurança. Acho que deveria permitir avaliações dos usuários, pois há tecnólogos em informática sem ser da Google. Seria colaborativo. A extensão é ótima!

Does not delete anything in Brave.
Works wonderfully. It's funny that it's been taken off of the webstore with manifest V3 rollout, as the extension keeps working if you just re-enable it. So it's clearly not affected but you still can't download it for some reason. Anyways, it does what it says and is as simple as you want it to be.

This seems to be the only extension I have come across that actually effectively performs this specific function, so, alongside it's thorough user control, it's a shame to see the recent appearances of the browser's 'loss of support' warning dialogue box. However I do now see in the overview text above that the developer themselves state that support may not be available for browser 'variants'... perhaps checking out their GitHub page will offer insight necessary for moving forward with their product despite aforementioned shenanigans.

I had this in Chrome and noticed a few cookies that were on multiple websites.... and knew that I had it installed but then noticed it was missing. Did Google remove it with a Chrome update? As soon as I reinstalled, it deleted 1,536 cookies...... If Google removes this again, I'm switching to Chrome or Edge.
Nach 100x aktualisieren vom Cookie Count Tracker auf der Willkommensseite erzählt es hätte 2935 Cookies gelöscht und unter Google Websiteberechtigung findet das System diese Cookies jedoch alle wieder als gespeichert. Hoffe Umatrix macht es besser.

I believe it is one of the most beneficial Chrome extensions; it automatically deletes cookies after closing the webpage.
A little confusing on how it works but once it was configured was great. It provide an easy way to clear out one bad sites' cookies easily. Love it. I hope it doesnt go away.

Probably the most dangerous non-malware extension in the Chrome store. Manual delete doesn't work. I just had all my cookies deleted when I just wanted to delete them from one site and only one tab was open. It is also too complex. This extension should have a very simple function: delete ALL cookies not in Whitelist after browser is closed or after session without the need for user engagement. If you want more, enable other features but the lack of instructions is poor. There also needs to be a feature that displays all the cookies currently loaded in the browser. My workaround is to use a third part cache and cookie cleaner like CCleaner. I add the cookies I don't want cleaned to its Whitelist. Easy, peasy. Finally, I'm not certain this extension even works since the last update was in Dec 2022. Thank you Google for ensuring it will be deprecated in January 2025! It needs to be gone now.
One of the most useful extensions in Chrome. I have used for a long time, never any problems -just read the instructions! Google/Chrome is about to ban you from the store... I hope we can still download and use it.
Does not work now on Brave. It shows number of cookies that supposed to be blocked but does not do it.
Really disappointed. I installed this and it was working for five minutes but now it won't delete the unwhite listed cookies. I've looked everywhere for an answer; including Github but couldn't even find any help there. Also, there are far too many boxes to tick when setting it up, it certainly needs to be simplified.
I've been downloading thousands of chrome extentions for years which didn't work at all. Every website kept tracking me until i found this. This extention IS THE BEST AND IT 100% BYPASSED WEBSITES COOKIE TRACKERS.
I have it on Brave with my MacBookPro. Causes my CPU to spike over 100%. When I deactivate, everything returns back to normal. I've testing it four times.
