HOW TO GET UBLOCK WORKING: 1. Enable Legacy MV2 Support via Chrome Flags Open Chrome and go to chrome://flags. Find “Allow legacy extension manifest versions” and set it to Enabled. Relaunch the browser to apply the change. 2. Reinstall uBlock Origin Manually Head over to the uBlock Origin’s GitHub releases page. Download the uBlock0.chromium.zip from the assets. Extract the ZIP file on your machine. Go to chrome://extensions, enable Developer Mode, and click “Load unpacked”. Then point to the extracted folder. Finish installing—uBlock Origin should now show up and work again.

Why did they do this? Really? Forcibly remove the extension??? I believe there's a way to manually add extensions to Chrome browsers. This should allow you to continue using the extension unofficially. Not gonna post the method here for obvious reasons, but those who are a little tech savvy can figure it out. It's not hard. I say we boycott yt until they bring this back. This is bad.

I think chrome got angry since they have been PUMPING ads into youtube and their platforms. This app has saved me from seeing those horrendous ads.

This was the best and was shut down by Google. Google has lied about this program. I will use any and every means i can to block any and all ads. I will go so far as to mute and shut off my screen to not see the ad, so Good luck stopping me. I will be switching to a browser that will let me continue to use Ublock so Eat a big fat one Google. Wonderful adblocker! The best! I just reopened chrome to do a math test and saw a little popup this was removed for "violating its ToS". We all know this is the fakest thing ever said, but fortunately I didn't notice all this time cause I was using ublock on firefox, a non-chromium browser!

Goodbye google! Goodbye Chrome! Thanks for everything, Ublock! This was the last shred of anything keeping me using Chrome. I hope this company just separates and rots. Remember when the slogan was "don't be evil"? What a joke.

It was one of the main reasons Chrome was tolerable with all the adds on google sites. Here's hoping UBlock Origin lite can properly hold the same torch while having its fingers cut off by google. definitely looking at alternative browsers.

The best adblocker being targeted, smeared, and disabled by Chrome shows that you need to use a different browser that supports all extensions. Brave and Opera GX are Chromium-based and still support this extension, but I would recommend switching off of Chromium-based browsers as well, as Google has shown time and time again that they cannot be trusted.

google stopped supporting it but i use brave, it turns out ads work on youtube with the extension too, poor ublock origin..

Doogle has apparently allowed me to install the ublock origin plugin now. Before, I had to use a workaround but it expectedly stopped working and they disabled the addon on my behalf. How fun. While I enjoy some of the benefits of using chrome over firefox, not being able to control what kind of ads I want to see is a deal breaker. Some websites become completely unreadable and unnavigable due to how they place their ads, while others have become outright dangerous as more and more deceptive and malware ridden ads slip through the cracks. I control all of the computers and devices at home to ensure my family does not fall victim to internet enabled harm. There are real life consequences to disabling uBlock Origin, and those consequences will win in a decision making process on what browser we use here.
