Love this new feature! I have been looking for something like this for a long time. Works easily from the Spotify web browser (all I have tried so far) and a great way to instantly be able to find a tab for something you are listening to and just have to play on the guitar. Would LOVE if y'all could find a way to implement this on iOS platform!!!

Does what it says on the tin. I pulled up 'Take It On The Run' by REO Speedwagon as a nice, simple test. At first, I thought it wasn't doing anything or it was broken, then noticed the added 'Chords' button in the YouTube video player beside the timecode and play/pause button when I moused over the video and the controls were shown. Clicked on the button, instantly launched a new in-line tab with the UG page for the song and all tabs and chord sheets. Well done, UG. This is a good first step. I hope you can find a way to go further with this tech.

works, you just need to be in the WEB VERSION of spotify, not the downloaded app! i think maybe some of those saying it isn't working are using the downloaded app version. since this is a chrome extension, it requires you to be on the chrome (web) spotify.

macOS Tahoe. Thanks to Damien Mc Hale (below in the comments), I have tried music.youtube.com (and then Private Investigations / Dire Straits.) The small button at the bottom brings me to Ultimate Guitar and provides the tabs. Tried Spotify Web player ( Mark Lanegan - When your number isn't up - Rest in peace - ) and same result. Button brings me to the tabs. ergo: it works and does what it should do

Great app! I open my https://music.youtube.com/ and pick a song to play. I just click the Ultimate-Guitar icon at bottom of the window, it instantly takes me to Ultimate-Guitar website and auto-searches the song. Great timesaver. A1. Thanks to the developers.

No button shows up anywhere, closed chrome and even rebooted and still nothing.

The open chord UG button has disappeared from the Spotify web player app. UG, please, need to be fixed.. Best regards B.

Lovely to see that this extension is being maintained, thank you SO SO much for the fix!!!!!!!!!!!! Change recommendation from original post: add "original" and words following "original" to the exception list, e.g. "original music video" would not be copied over in the search.

Only works on web player 👎

Though its a good extension which helps directly to open the web for the song but the main issue comes under the searching power of the web app which exactly matches the string which makes the song unavailable even if is present on the ultimate guitar.

Worked for me. The bar icon generates a "Open Chord" button down at the bottom of Spotify site. Clicking on the button opens a page on ultimate-guitar.com with the tabs of the song that's being played.

I cannot make this work on either Windows or iOS. I have installed the extension on the latest Chrome versions. I open Youtube or Spotify and play a song. The only option I have is to right-click the "G" icon in the pinned extension and click Instant Chords: Tab Connect by Ultimate Guitar. It opens the Ultimate Guitar website to its home page. What can I do to make this work?

For anyone confused, you need to visit the web-based Spotify player at open.spotify.com . This browser extension doesn't work for the desktop app.

It's would be great if the tab synchronized with the Spotify playback. The two apps need a single play button, so the song starts in both apps simultaneously. Unless this happens you cannot play the song and listen to it at the same time. Good try, needs work.

I don't see anywhere on Desktop, Android where the Get Chords feature is in Spotify. I've rebooted bot the computer and devices. No help is available.

Works fine as long as the tune is already on the Ultimate Guitar website, AND your accessing the player from the browser - does not work from within the app of the player.

doesn't work, tried running this while running Pandora , youtube, or a few other web pages and it doesn't do anything. click and ...nothing.

Very nice. Simple, instant access to the tabs, no typing, which is nice when you have arthritis as I do. Not YT idiot proof, yet, though, it fails to recognise song titles that are wrongly spelt. "Sounds of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel, for example. "Against stupidity, the gods themselves contend in vain" - Schiller.
