Yes, it is totally possible to use youtube consciously and resist the tempestuous, addictive design without extensions, but why do we have to actively resist the platforms design in the first place? You shouldn't have to fight for your attention. Hopefully google doesn't remove this, as they have with similar extensions. Why do you think google is opposed to people using their platform less addictively? Obviously, because these extension help individuals spend less time on their platform, making them less money. Recently, I noticed that some settings don’t seem to apply anymore, like hiding the header, recommended videos, playlists, and a few others. I’m using Google Chrome. stopped working all of a sudden, reinstalling doesn't fix. I'm on Dia browser on macos 26

I've been using UnTrap for about a year and a half now, and it's made using YouTube so much more bearable for me. I especially like the ability to block infinite scrolling and shorts and make the thumbnails grayscale. One feature I'd like to suggest is the ability to turn off the AI summary and ask buttons, because I have never used them, and they just clutter up the screen. Otherwise I'm loving UnTrap. Keep up the good work ^_^

Hi, Thank you for this extremely useful extension - I'm finding YouTube pretty much unusable without it. In the current version (9.4) there are, however, some functionality issues. I haven't found any official issue tracker, so I'll leave my findings here: - In left navigation panel - section "library" gets hidden by default, and extension controls do nothing to affect this. - The same seems to be true for section "discover". - On video page, "centering" doesn't seem to work. Regardless of this, I'm really grateful for this extension, thanks again....

First time I felt like reviewing an app… this extension has changed my behavior soo much! It's the type of fine-grained settings that make it work for. My startpage is blank now, the thumbnails have a grey-filter and the suggestions are hidden. No more distraction, just me and my brain, thinking of good 'search-queries' again rather then doomscrolling trash-content.

Since december some hidden sections in Facebook (by using the corresponding options) started to show again.

It did wut unhook doesn't seem working in my pc: "Hide Suggestions in the video end" THANK YOU!

Worked well since I installed it over a year ago. However, I started seeing Reels on Facebook using version 7.6 with "Hide 'Reels and short videos'" enabled.

This is a must-have extension on everyone's computer these days if you're serious about your life. I set my YouTube to Grey mode and removed feeds, comments, and suggestions. Now my YouTube looks like the Google homepage, just a search field. Sometimes I find myself going to YouTube, thinking about what to search to watch, and after a few seconds, I go back to my work. I was using my other computer and found that some videos had been playing all the time. Similarly, I keep my Facebook clean; I see nothing but the search option and Marketplace for product gadget hunt. This app developer deserves a digital detox award for saving hours. #digitaldetox

Amazing app. It works so much better for me than just blocking website, since I often turn those back on just to do searches. Hiding the feed itself is a much better option. My only feature request would be if you could add Threads to the list as well!

I don't open tiktok that often and I hope they fix tiktok as well where I can hide the main feed. I don't know why I can't set it right now. But nonetheless I hope the creator/s of this extension made it in life because they created the best blocker extension for social media platforms. I was getting lost a lot of times on my mac while working, doom scrolling, and that no longer is a problem, especially now that I saw with the new update you can hide the reels feed but keep the reels section inside profile accounts. I'm saying this as a marketer who has to look from time to time to other accounts for inspiration.

Funktioniert perfekt, besonders gut finde ich die vielen individuellen Einstellungen. Man kann sogar einstellen, dass die abonnierten Kanäle als Startseite angezeigt werden.

This was my favorite extension because of how much customization it had. The option to disable infinite scrolling was amazing and something I haven’t seen anywhere else. It’s not working now, and YouTube feels overwhelming again. Please fix it—this extension is the best.

何か月か使ってきたけどYoutube視聴時間が少なくなるし有用な拡張機能だと思う。 ただ2025年の12月31日から急にまた表示され始めた。自分の環境だけなのかはわからないけど何とかしてほしい。 [追記] 直ったので星5にします。
