This is a jaw dropping improvement in productivity for language learning. It is amazingly customizable which means whatever source you need can be added and displayed painlessly. I used to try to stitch multiple extensions together and I still wasn't able to display as much as Definer does all by itself in a compact usable interface. No more copying and pasting stuff to your dictionary of choice!

Just installed this extension today, and I'm finding it very useful. There is an option to add your own sources using the "Custom Source" feature, which makes it even better. Though the size of the "Bubble" can be adjusted to one's preference, what I feel would also be of great help is the ability to reposition the "Bubble" on a web page by drag and drop. I hope the developers will consider providing this feature.

excellent in every way. one of the absolute best extensions i've ever used - they should be proud. only suggestion would be to fine tune the wikipedia plugin to be able to recognize disambiguations and alternate names to better find the relevant wikipedia page. e.g.) if I highlight "Barack Hussein Obama", I can get his page to pop up on the Wikipedia plug-in, but if I just highlight "Obama", it doesn't take me to his page nor does it ask me if I want to select his, Michelle's etc. (Wikipedia generates a page with all of the disambiguation options when you type something vague, i don't know if you could connect and display it for selection somehow.) This is very helpful with great design! It will be even better if the learning curve of adding custom sources is lower. I still couldn't add cambridge dictionary source into it: tried multiple variations and still doesn't work properly. Such as "https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english-chinese-simplified//definer/iframe?text={str}&lang={lang}"

i started to read a book and there are some words on every page that i don't know the exact meaning now thanks to this extension i can just know the meaning of that word just by double clicking instead of searching on a next chrome tab which result in lose focus while reading a book

Man kann direkt im Dialog aus mehreren Quellen wählen (darunter ist sinnigerweise auch eine Bildsuchmaschine). Man kann auch eine eigene Quelle konfigurieren, etwa, um weniger Daten an Google zu übermitteln. Hierfür bietet sich vor allem WordReference an, da es mit mehreren Sprachen umgehen kann.

Hi, thanks for a great extension, no more switching between search and document. I have some feedback for you: - Some sites are not working, I'm trying to use it on bookfusion.com (online epub reader) but it's not working so far, even by using context menu or hot key. Maybe because they are having custom actions on click? Tested on chrome and edge - Default hot key `Att + D` focuses omni bar, I have to switch to other. - Add hotkey to open Definer similar to clicking to extension icon. This helps in case popup is not working on some sites. One can press `Ctrl+C` then `hotkey` to lookup, less convenient than popup but a useful fallback option. Or even have option to use popup or top bar mode.

When the double click works, its great but I am not sure why it only works 30% of the time for me. I have to keep going to the option page to disable/enable an option to use it.

Needed to find a replacement since Google decided to not update their own extension to Manifest V3. Thank God this one exists! Even better than Google's! My only suggestion is please add an import/export for our settings

I really like this extention especially I used the custom source to read from a longman dictionary. I have two question. every time it reads from longman inside extention's fram it ask to accept the cookies which is a bit frustrating but not sure there is exist a solution for it And is there an addins to use definer inside Foxit PDF readr? many thanks
