I hate the new update

my school got rid of this and i want to cry.... my canvas is ugly

It looks much better but on the GPA and grades page, it said I had an F when really I had a B in a class. So it stressed me out more than it should, but the appearance is better with Better Campus.

its too bad that I cannot edit anything with this and any themes or extensions are not available whether its because of bugs or for just some reason being stuck on the "use the border to move around" and being unable to move or continue after

I liked it when it was better canvas, this one is much harder to navigate

why do we only have a 2 week trial, really good but why 2 weeks

soooo many bugs now, this used to be so much better before the upgrade to bettercampus

I dont think I would be able to make it if I had to go back to using regular canvas

This extension has helped me so much during school! i dont know what i'd do without it.

This is honestly amazing. I use canvas for everything I do in school and it really helps. It shows you exactly what you have to do, gives you check lists, IT PUTS IT ON DARK MODE (witch I love), you can pick from soo many themes and I really enjoy this. ANDDD its free!! I very much recommend this to anyone who uses canvas. It also makes it SO easy to check my grades and see what I need to do for the week and or day.

I really wanted to like this extension, but unfortunately, my students’ homework assignments wouldn’t load with it installed. Once I uninstalled (or deactivated) it, I was able to see my students’ assignments and grade them again. Other than this one issue, I really liked the extension—hence the three stars. But it’s unusable for me if I can’t grade assignments.

Great Extension, However, I did finally come across an issue after using for one semester. I marked an assignment done on accident then I went on the completed list and put it back as to do then when I finally did the assignment I tried to mark it back as done and it will not let me.

If I had reviewed better canvas a couple of months ago I would have rated it a 5 out 5 stars, but after the latest update I have never been more disappointed by a new update. Features the were previously free are now paid features through a subscription service. I've read other people stating you have limited theme changes. They put me on an automatic free trial for one of their plans so I haven't been able to access the "basic" plan yet. It's upsetting that a once completely free extension is now one that has subscriptions if you want more/better features.

I really like this extension when I used it in the past, but I'm personally not a fan of several features the new update adds. Things I like: - I really like the new Assignments page the widget adds - It's wayyy easier to find new themes Things I don't like: - I think the new update adds a bunch of extraneous features that aren't that helpful (music player, mindfulness counter, AI notetaker, etc). - The BetterCampus being in the Toolbar as my Dashboard, Courses, Groups, etc is distracting and being unable to customize it makes the logo stick out like a sore thumb. Would like the option to hide/customize it - Not the fault of the app, but I'm not a fan of how the new UI makes my Canvas rounder. It looks too corporate and round and I'm personally not a huge fan of that art style but that's just personal preference. - Extension is pretty laggy when browsing through themes in the extension - BetterCampus on Firefox doesn't display due dates, which is unfortunate because that is BetterCampus' most helpful feature Would love if there was a way to opt-in/opt-out of the new vs old versions

Good tool that makes Canvas 10% nicer to use (so totally worth it), its also completely free. Its a no brainer imo.

I love better canvas. I wish, though, that we could save themes we like in an easy to navigate to folder. I also think a "preview theme" option would be great.

Good overall but would not save my notes for the life of me! It's super frustating when it freezes and all it'll save is half a sentence from a full lecture's worth of notes.

I dont know if its a client side thing but when i click any class the theme just goes away blinding me. Not only just the theme goes away, the whole extension just ceases to work anymore even if I go back to the dashboard. I will change my rating if I can find help

If y'all want the old version, go to the source code link (github) on the description of the extension, click on code, download zip, extract the zip, go to the extensions page on chrome, enable developer mode, click load unpacked, find the folder that was extracted and load that. Now you have the version of this extension from about a year ago.

I love better canvas. I just don't really like this update a lot.

At first, it wasn't working, but once I went to the Canvas Dashboard and clicked on the extension, a dialog box appeared. I love the theming but above all, the dark mode. I cannot stand the blinding light of Canvas, and this has saved my eyes.

Straight up shows me the wrong due date. I don't know how it's possible to screw an extension up this bad, but it tells me that all my assignments are due a day later than they actually are!

Its cool I just wish it linked up through different devices. I have BetterCampus on my Macbook and on my PC at home and I logged in the same way on both devices but they are still different like non of the changes I make on canvas on my PC transfer over to my canvas on my Macbook so I basically have two individual accounts not linked. Idk just a small change I would like.

Really cool extension, helped organize my canvas. However, in dark mode, when you type something for an assignment, you cant see what you are typing because the letters are in black.

I find this update overwhelming and stressful. I want better canvas back, I do not like this update. I want my tasks back the way they were. Can anyone help me get the old canvas back? Thanks.

Just installed the extension, but each time I've attempted to open it, it just didn't work. Maybe it's just a bug or my laptop is too old for compatibility?

Great Product! It is definitely worth your time to install the extension (either Chrome or Firefox, both work well), and set up your customizations. Question for the developers: Is there some way to support the project financially? Like, for example, how some IT projects have a "buy me a coffee" button, or a "support the project" button, where users can send currencies to the developers to support the project(s) financially? And, if so, is there some way that you can set that up on your guys' website, so that visitors can support? Also, thanks so much for everything that you guys do! You're all amazing!

great over all but the new update squeezes the cards so the image is barely readable and your tasks are shown. Not bad if you don't care about the look but really upsetting when picking their themes.

I have 2 different canvases for my actual classes and my dual-enrollment, the old, previously BetterCanvas allowed me to customize for both without overriding one or the other. This new update made everything so much more complicated, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to customize both my canvases without one overriding the other, without removing everything I've done. It's just so frustrating because I have to manually go back and re-input all the colors and photos, and when I do that for one of my canvases, I can't do it for my other one. Please fix this or atleast let me know how to customize both of my canvases simultaneously.

Upon downloading, it adds a button that you can use to access BetterCampus on the sidebar on your dashboard. However it may be helpful, I do not have a use for it and cannot find a way to get rid of it. I have tried downloading other Chrome extensions to get rid of it, but nothing seems to work. The button will always be the first one and you cannot edit it or change its location- it's permanent. One star for UX. It is bothersome and there is no user support line available because the user support email I found on the website doesn't seem to exist. Although it ruins how everything looks and is extremely inconvenient to me, the most triggering issue is the lack of help. If this wasn't such an annoying issue for me, the overall extension isn't bad. Unlike me, if you can ignore this issue, then this extension is wonderful. Five stars for prettiness. If you ever find trouble and the solution isn't in their FAQs, let me know if you resolved it somehow. I know this may seem like a small, insignificant issue, but I would really appreciate it if somebody could help me out. I really enjoy the other aspects of the extension and would like to enhance my experience. Everybody else who has the extension seems to be exempt from this issue.

the new update is kind of disappointing, just looks a lot worse

I love this extension, honestly. However, i find the public themes to be lacking. So i decided to make my own. I had multiple themes, so when i went to change it, it copied one of my themes on top of the other, deleting all of my theme basically. Please fix this.

It was REALLLY good but I have to take off 2 stars because the GPA Calculator u can't put by yourself to use it. And it cost money. I use to use my school's grades and put it in Canvas for it to calculate for me but since the new update is money-hungry, im uninstalling it. Why would a Student extension be money-hungry?

It was working fine until the free trial ended (I trial I never signed up). I couldn't use most features that was free like changing my theme without paying.... The only thing I could really use was the task bar..

It's a real shame to see a tool made to help students overcome academic stress be locked behind an account creation and parts of it even a subscription service. As a student, I do not want to enter my email and date of birth, because I have no idea who the person that created this is, and have no clue where that information is going. It comes across as a sketchy and shady practice, especially because the account doesn't actually offer any real benefit besides "unlocking" parts of the extension. I hate to think of students paying for something like this when they already have college debt on their shoulders. It should really be a donation model if it collects money at all. Alas, the previous version was better.

Love the extension, however the notes page is so buggy because whenever I try to copy and paste my notes into canvas, it always disappears whenever i go to a different page, which is a shame.

I'd love to give it 5 stars because it really is useful for organizing your assignments better and visualizing classes, but I've had issues with the dark mode and professors using black text. I'm perpetually having to highlight entire pages so that I can read what they've wrote because I refuse to use light mode. If y'all could work that out, I'd be forever grateful. Also, please please add a time blocking feature to the calendar page so we can plan out our entire day and don't have to use 5 different apps to keep everything in line. Thank you! This extension has been a lifesaver even with its very small issues :)

It's really good but it was buggy. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it wouldn't even let me open the extension. :( Buggy but I loved it (still trying to use rn)

I love BetterCampus - it keeps me on track and organized. It notifies me if an assignment is due soon, and lets me create my own tasks too! They have cool features to help me keep track of assignments I need to complete, and the customization allows me to fit it to how I like. My only complaint is a couple of bugs. For some mysterious reason, the extension didn't show my tasks. I restarted the laptop. No dice. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled. This worked, but it only shows 2 tasks on the to-do list. I checked the completed list and didn't find my other assignments, although I found it on the calendar. Hope it can be fixed!

Yo, there's a lot of fake reviews out there. I hear rumor of them review farms where u just gotta slap some of dat moolah on the table and BOOM, all the 5 star reviews u could wish fer. But listen here real closely ya random internet stranger: This guy, me, yeah me, this guy is talking really, really weird like so you can KNOW i aint one of them fake reviews. Now that I have used all dem fancy words to earn yer trust and whatnot, allow me to say this: This extension is true n blue as the gleamin reviews says it is. Why? cuz this guy has that Eighty-HD stuff them doctors talk about, and i'll tell u wut: this extension really does help a whole lot. It transfroms the interface to be more interactive, more modular, more intuitive. Anwywho. I digress. Don't believe me. Try it out fer urself. Make up ur own mind. I like it. 5/5 stars for sure.

Actually keeps me on task and notifies me of when my assignments will be do! Love the notification feature where it literally pops up and says "_____ assignment is due in 1 hour" saves my life when I forget or don't check my planner!

The new update sucks. Automatically put me on a trial for the paid version and would have charged me if I didn't notice and cancel it; super anti-consumer behavior. Requires an account to do basically anything. Notifications about assignments show up on webpages that aren't canvas.

cute! i love changing it to fit with the season!
