As an English teacher this is an incredible tool to understand the thought process of a student as they are writing. I am able to watch them construct the writing, and find places to personalize feedback based on their own approach. I have dreamed of being able to see this much process data for years, and I never thought it would be a reality.

I'm an instructional designer and recommend this extension to all the faculty I work with. It is free and safe and is the best tool that I have found thus far to give to faculty to help them keep their students on the straight and narrow, so to say!

Process feedback is a great tool to track how students are progressing with their work and where they may be using technology to assist them. However, I have found that if a student is voice typing it will show up as a paste event. This is also the case for spelling/grammar checks. This can make authenticity more challenging to prove for assessment work.

great extension, does what it says it does, for free. I use it for checking work that has been submitted. Very very effective

The way this interfaces with Google Classroom is a particularly effective part of what it offers.

I have been an English high school teacher for the past three years and I just came across Process Feedback last semester and it is possibly one of the best tools for vetting student work I have ever used AND it's absolutely free! Conventional software for teachers like Turnitin might be useful for more traditional forms of plagiarism Process Feedback allows for me to look at smaller analysis writing submissions which I have found have a high rate of false positives for AI flagging. It is also far better than the tedium of looking at a students document history using google's native function. I love love love this plugin and would happily pay monthly for it should it ever decide to require a paywall!

I was so lucky when I ran into the creator of this extension at the LA Writer's Conference. I was looking for a replacement for Draftback (after they started charging a monthly fee) so I was excited to see a new option. I love the focus on the writing/creating process and the quick and easy layout of the reports. It has all the features of Draftback and MORE. The feature of being able to share a link to the report is a helpful addition too. The creators have gone the extra mile to share valuable resources in the provided teacher guide. I also appreciate the positive tone throughout the website about academic integrity and writing as a process.

This is a fantastic tool that enables me to be very specific with students about their use of outside help with their writing. It encourages trust and open communication that helps learning, rather than resentfully held suspicion that cannot be proven.

Every language teacher needs this. As a student I'm using it for fun (I want a time lapse of my 243k edits journal, eventually failed due to this enormous amount of edits lol), and I told my favorite teachers asap. Whoever made this and made it so free and handy, HAND OVER THAT TIP JAR.

What a great tool! There is no way you can STOP students from using AI. Instead, focus on the writing PROCESS! This extension is the perfect tool you need to understand HOW your students are writing. The insights that Process Feedback provides will help improve your writing process and support student learning.

Great extension. After deleting draftback due to it having a charging fee, I downloaded Process Feedback which offered the same thing as draftback, but free!

This is an excellent extension. The features are more useful than Draftback and it is faster. I really like that I can see the students scrolling up and down in their documents. It is helpful for authenticating the originality of work, but it is also useful in demonstrating what the writing process looks like to students who may not be as confident about their process.

When Draftback starting charging, I switched to this, and I have to say it's much better than Draftback.

This tool is amazing! I can justify to a student the suspicion of plagiarized content using the extension info from all the copy/paste sessions. I will work this into my syllabus, with a clear specification of unacceptable digital behavior. Thank you for keeping it free!

This tool is a fantastic resource for teachers. It provides excellent, easy to understand information, and it integrates seamlessly with Google Classroom. I far prefer this to similar tools that I have used. It is also a fantastic resource to help substantiate claims about academic dishonesty.

Excellent and free. Tons of data on each document. Easy to use. Helpful tutorials for some of the more complicated features. My only complaint is that the "ribbon" pops up on documents even if I have the option turned off for it. It seems to only do so when the Docs toolbar at the top is minimized. That's a bit of an annoyance, but overall, not terrible.

This is absolutely a powerful tool for teacher to understand the pattern of how students work towards their tasks. It also helps tremendously for teachers to identify potential academic misconducts so teachers can constructively help students from there.

Process Feedback is an incredibly useful tool that shows a student's editing and revision process as well as their thought process as they write. It also identifies sections of copy/paste, which may or may not be a red flag. The data provided is pretty remarkable- active typing time, total task duration, and user contributions (which is great when a group is working on the same doc) and more. It's a great alternative to Draftback!

This is helpful to understand how much copy pasting the students are doing. Disheartening, but helpful to understand how the students work was created. I teach grade 9 geo in french.

This has been great for seeing how the students are working on their documents and how to best help them as they hit roadblocks. There are so many tools; I can't wait to explore more. Thanks for keeping this FREE.

Tremendous. What a gamechanger! The ability to see the editing process, view statistics, and track the instances of copy and paste makes detecting academic fraud so much easier than simply using version history. When my students know I have this tool, they are much less likely to attempt to use AI summaries.

Agreed with the other reviews about Process Feedback being an effective tool to combat inappropriate use of AI in the classroom. However, I would also highlight its value as an actual writing tool, and as a satisfying way of seeing the "story" of your writing. I have my students install the extension, run the report, and then provide a link to the report on their doc before they turn it in. Then they can benefit from the report as well, plus it saves me the time of running it if I doubt its authenticity. I also agree with another review that this is a better version of Draftback, for anyone who used that.
