finally something thats good

Honestly the best text to speech I've been able to find, it can be buggy at times but compared to other text to speech extensions, its fully free and you don't have to export the text. I exclusively read on chrome just for this extension.

I'd love to give this 5 stars. But it's incredibly inconsistent. I use it on a specific website. Sometimes it works flawlessly. Sometimes it won't work at all. And once it stops working, it's frustrating trying to get it to work again.

It would be better if there is a floating button. The voice is still not very natural. It is recommended to add Edge's voice model.

Hit or miss. Works when it wants to. Seems like a free alternative to annoy you and forces you to pay or use another screen reader with ads. I really don't know how it got this rating, but if your a developer, i'm sure you could find a way to pump up your rating.

It's been 5 min and I already regret adding it, don't wast time it has only robotic richard and linda voices for EN, in a terrible interface, this extension should be rated under 3 ***

Worked flawlessly until it didn't. For months after I downloaded it, it was my go to everyday until today. I am not sure if it my computer or the app but it will not read sometimes and sometimes it will start and make it through a line or 2 then stop. I'm very upset I gotta find a new app and toss this one I need something reliable for my school work and this just does not seem to be it.

Had the extension downloaded for two hours. In that time, it worked twice. I ensured no other tabs or instances of Chrome were active. Surprisingly, it worked PERFECTLY on their own website. And I don't know who is narrating the video, but Pericles is pronounced peh-ruh-kleez. Not peh-ruh-culls. I mean, you even use a Grecian helmet as your logo. I would imagine you'd pronounce the name of the greatest Athenian politicians correctly. TL;DR -- Only works faithfully on the creator's website. Not worth your time.

Didn't work for me. If crashes when it tries do read Google Docs and nothing happens

I have tried almost every TTS extension. This is simply the best!!! For me most important is maximum 2.5x speed, none of other extension have higher than 2.0x speed.

I absolutely hate this screen reader. It's not moving along from the main header of the pages I use it on. It just keeps repeating the same 3 or 4 lines. Telling it to skip does not make it move along, nothing I try can make it move to the actual body. Saving the pages as a PDF and uploading it makes everything unusable, I can't even read the words on the screen to follow along.

This is great plugin, any plans to add more premium voices in french language?

Really great extension, for free. I noticed some unpatient people complaining in the reviews that it doesn't work. It didn't work for me at first either. Make sure the page you want it to read is setup and if it's not working then click on the extension -> click the cog wheel for settings -> click the ... -> reload app and then go to then try again. This worked for me. Nothing to complain about when it's a free extension that is very powerful and probably difficult to code. Thank you developer, you are a star

Why would I used a text to speech reader when the overview video voice over doesn't even pronounce the name of your own extension correctly? ("Pear-ih-CULLS"???) If you can't bother with quality control over pronunciation in that why should I expect the screen reader to do a good job?

Bad job. Using Google TTS voices causes the extension to stop working. I'll give this extension a 0 out of 10. Please fix it now.

Used to be fantastic but recently its been randomly stopping and generally breaking, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and can't seem to fix it

Read so many good reviews about this extension. Unfortunately, the extension doesn't work on sites like Wattpad (www.wattpad.com) or Quotev (www.quotev.com). Would have loved to have e-books read to me. :(

Literally only read aloud the words of the Pericles website, not the pdf document I uploaded. Complete joke.

honestly best screen reader, i downloaded the other screen reader and it was awful just kept reading the url over and over. i needed to read a pdf book and was able to upload it no problem and loved the english male voice. sounds like i'm reading a harry potter book but its a school text book lol

Great extension, fantastic dev. Upon encountering an issue with the extension, I reported the bug and received a response from the dev the next day. He quickly identified and solved my issue. Extension works great with lots of customization options.

I think this extension is one of the best there is. Super easy to use and the developer is always fast at fixing whatever problems arise. Thanks you.

Great reader, but lately has been causing many websites to not function correctly. Drop down menus have started not working, for instance. This is only when I have Pericles installed that this happens. Will change to 5 stars, when this is fixed!

i liked the older version better and i know alot of people like it this way so i dont want you to change it but can you send me the old code or a way to get the old version

I cannot get this extension to work on my chromebook. When I press play, the extension responds with "Loading" then times out after a minute, then states "something went wrong".

hello! I love this extension while I'm confused about how to change the selected voice&language to another country/region. I've changed the user interface language of my system to English and used VPN to download it again but they didn't work. I am a non-native English speaker and want to learn the accent. Thank you!

Awesome! Have been downloading and trying out a bunch of extensions until now and it is exactly what I was looking for with features such as keybinding, highlighting words + auto scroll, plus voice is very standard. However I wish that the highlighted sentence remains in the middle of the screen.

Easy to use and works really well. I saw in the earlier comments that you might be considering adding some additional highlight colors? My only complaint is the light yellow highlight color can be tricky to see on white backgrounds.
