When you click Summarize, instead of summarizing the page, it tells you the definition of the word "summarize". This is moronic.

I used to rely on Perplexity daily. Recent changes to models and behavior make it unusable for my workflow, and none of this was clearly communicated. Very sad to leave a 1‑star review.

Eine dümmliche Erweiterung, die einem plötzlich mehr Arbeit bereitet. Man schaue sich Summarizing (This page) an, die Erweiterung liefert wiederholt eine Definition von "Summarizing", hat das niemand getestet? Man wechselt den Tab und alles, was man vorher eingegeben hat und wonach gesucht wird, ist weg. Ich bin ein großer Fan von Perplexity, nutze gerne Spaces und Connectors, aber diese Erweiterung ist wirklich unsinnig in meinem Anwendungsfall.

На ютюбе часто использую кнопку саммари, чтобы не смотреть часовое видео, а бысрро прочитать о чём там. Но было бы гораздо удобнее получать не просто самммари, а краткий пересказ с таймингом. I often use the summary button on YouTube so I don’t have to watch an hour-long video and can quickly read what it’s about. But it would be much more convenient to get not just a summary, but a short recap with timestamps.

Does not summerize pages, just defines the word summerize. It used to do this well, so I am not sure what changed.

Please, Please, Please, make a side-panel extension that will stay open when you navigate around and use the current page as the primary source when making queries, will retain the current thread until you start a new one, and allow you to add a thread to a space, do deep research and all the other things that make perplexity shine. Just the persistence across tabs will make it a game-changer, where it is currently a frustrating, awkward experience that seems more like an afterthought than a focused solution. I am a paying customer that have been with you guys since the start. If there is one thing I have always thought you have completely neglected, it is this extension.

Hey! You’ve built an amazing extension — exactly what I’ve been looking for. There’s just one small improvement needed before it’s a solid 5-star from me 😅 When I summarize a page, the summary works perfectly. But if I switch tabs and come back to the same page, the summary disappears — then I have to re-run it or dig through history on Perplexity, which takes extra time. It would be great if the extension could save or reload the last summary automatically, so we can easily revisit it — especially when taking notes or multitasking between tabs. Looking forward to your response and thoughts on this!

I use Perplexity every day—it's a great tool! I have the Commet browser, but unfortunately, it's not available on iOS. Syncing is really important to me, so I have to use Google Chrome. It would be great if you added support for a Chrome extension and implemented all the functionality directly in the app.

This extension is very suspicious. It claims to be from Perplexity and even has a Chrome Web Store "Featured badge"! However, I contacted Perplexity support directly, and they confirmed via email that they do not have any official Chrome browser extensions as of writing this review. Please be cautious when using this addon, as it is misleading.

Zero integration, is just a window sitting there, useless. Implement a sidebar with integration with the current page so I can interact properly.

L'application est ancienne et mériterait une petite mise à jour mais elle fait le job, à condition de lui demander de façon précise et d'éviter de cliquer intempestivement sur la croix, ce qui fait perdre le chat en cours. Si on a un compte (on peut en avoir un gratuit), l'historique s'inscrit cependant dans le compte. Elle est en anglais mais répond parfaitement en français. Pour résumer une page, il faut à ce moment là écrire "résume" ou résume cette page, au lieu de cliquer sur summarise et la fonction focus permet d'indiquer si la recherche se fait dans le contexte de la page, du domaine ou du web. J'espère que les développeurs la mettront à jour car elle est intéressante.

so far, I've only used this for summarizing YouTube videos, but it's been useful in doing so... there's been a trend lately among podcasts to use a baiting question or statement in the title, like 'This One Food Will Change Your Life', but then the answer is buried in a 2+ hour episode including the authors childhood... so using 'Summarize' or a narrow query can quickly find the answer

Was semi-useful for quick access to Perplexity and to begin discussion/summarization of a page when it worked. There was always a problem where it couldn't see certain pages and wouldn't let you select them as the context. Now it's just never able to see the page at all. I'm wagering that the company abandoned the extension's maintenance in a worse-than-ever buggy state. Can still be used to ask Perplexity something unrelated, but at that point I'll just visit the website for that. Looking to uninstall the extension soon…

I wish we had the option to select our model when we search using this, or have it stay on the model we were already using in the app

The functionality is too simple, yet the price is quite expensive. Why wouldn't I use TinaMind, which offers more features at a lower cost?

App has stopped filtering properly. It has no idea what page I'm on or domain. When it does, it struggles. Not sure what happened but I will fix my review if the quality comes back.

9 times out of 10 the summary button is useless as it doesn't pull data from the website I'm in. So it's just another chatbot under a popup.html

I LOVE Perplexity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But... I do wish that there was a button on the Perplexity extension pop-down box to open a new tab in the perplexity site. I really do not care for the pop-down box. Or am I using it wrong??

Simple and very practical, no matter what you're looking for. All that's left is to pin the search results so that you can review the information without it disappearing.

Bad extension. Everything disappears if I click outside the extension's pop-up and I have to sart all over again. It crashes often and once I needed to reinstall it. Also, it collects a lot of data. HATE IT!!!!!!!

Only 4 stars so I can rate a 5 with the next inevitable improvement. Perplexity is very configurable. If you're not specifying it's interaction there's your path to better. There is not a lot of value in the old style Search engines when you have to sift through a mountain of baloney for a spec of Caviar. Plus it is more closely aligned with unbiased, a real challenge in todays social communications environment that I greatly respect. I haven't found it trying to sell me any ideas - LOL.
