Keeps losing connection, can't see the tabs I move into its session, in the chat Claude said 'I don't have documentation on the exact indicator showing Claude desktop is successfully connected to Claude in Chrome extension.' to which I replied - It is an Antropic product, how could you not have access to the relevant info - frustrating.
It creates a new tab group every time I try to use it. It's super annoying, especially when a tab was already in a tab group and this plugin pulls it out of the tab group it was in and drops it into a new one. It otherwise does what I'd expect it to do, but the annoyance of the tab groups is enough to were I just disabled it.
Great concept, but I am finding it either 'useless/timing out over and over again' or super slow if/when it actually works. I bet you could make this work in Atlas... LOL... wasting so much time trying to 'troubleshoot/configure things' to make the extension actually work that I could have likely done what I am trying to do (at least short term) on my own days ago!
most frustrating thing I have ever tried to use... It connects and works fine for a while then BAM done won't connect at all to claude anything anymore no matter what I do. I've spent like 6 hours going in circles. I'll give ya one stars because I can't give you 0.
Spending so much time trying to configure the browser to work. I've been trying to connect my Outlook for 3 days and im just burning through credits.There is not a microsoft 365 connector and Im not sure why. Will keep evaluating, not sure if im going to keep subscription as of yet. It hasnt simplified anything as of yet but has cost me a lot of time.
Incredibly slow to do simple tasks. What's the point? Just do the tasks yourself instead of wasting time on this.
This extension must have been completely vibe coded without any human intervention. I installed it so Claude Code can control my browser, and I blew 1 full hour troubleshooting with Opus 4.5 in claude code and we simply could not figure out why he could not connect to Anthropics own Extension. Such a shame.
Appears to be dead in the water with the most recent Chrome update. Anthropic isn't staying up to date with Chrome release compatibility.

Amazing in concept but it's super slow at completing any tasks for me. Hopefully they improve it as I can see the potential here and it could significantly improve my workflows.
A lot of these reviews read as user error... Claude in Chrome works beautifully within reason. If you have well-defined workflows (for example, "modify these DNS settings given these instructions," "perform this research task," "unsubscribe from these emails," etc., it really shines. Being unable to use an API key to authenticate is a valid complaint, though; hopefully, that changes soon.

Completely worthless if you have more than 1 chrome profile. Claude will not work for me if they can't stabilize their GoogleMCP and/or support multiple chrome profiles.

Very good when it connects, but connecting inconsistently at this point (still in beta). Improve connectivity and add more features like taking long .webm videos and I'll gladly update my review to 5 star!
I have an Anthropic enterprise API key but I can't use it with this extension.
Not sure why this is rated as low as it has - This extension has been an amazing tool in my workflow to review web changes and suggest improvements that I can implement in CC.
Whenever I try to open it by clicking on the icon in the toolbar the whole browser shuts down.
I love Claude and I love Claude code - use them both every day as part of a team. They have been indispensable for coding and other formula based tasks. With that said - this chrome extension is not great and if zero starts were an option that's what I'd give it. I ran a simple query and it actually asked me to give it permission to search google. If I wanted to search google, I certainly wouldn't need to use Claude. There's no way to set a keyboard shortcut to open the extension, and it only recognizes info in the same tab group as Claude. The usability and usefulness of this extension is just not there. Even Gemini in Chrome works better, and that's a pretty low bar too.

Good potential but often crashes chrome, and sometimes doesn't open in a few pages, not sure why.
This has so much potential, but unfortunately, does not work. It got about halfway through my task (first half was working amazingly!) to navigate through a complex web portal and downlaod a bunch of CSV files that I had been doing manually ... then it degraded ... got slower and eventually stopped. Suppose this is a context window issue perhaps. Really hope to see this improve for longer horizon tasks.

Doesn't work at all. In one of my browser profiles, it won't login. In another profile, it logs in but doesn't show more than a blank sidebar when I click on it.
Never get it to work with claude code max plan it always ask me for login even the claude code /chrome says it's enabled and installed

Did some really important stuff using this plugin for my web server that I will need to reference in the future - found out the next day it has no chat history. I'm crushed, what a disaster!

Extension is helpful - and I know it's Beta - but it's missing a critical feature --> No chat history and no x-interface sync with other Claude products. Once the browser tab or chat pane is closed the chat is gone forever. Strongly recommend prioritizing this -- until then I'll be using Claude console & macOS app.

"OAuth authentication is currently not allowed for this organization." - BS, OAuth is enabled and worked fine when connecting Claude Code to my API account. It's just Claude Chrome extension that's broken.
