AdGuard AdBlocker has done a great better job blocking those pesky ads, and for the record, only Ads causes malware, not AdGuard AdBlocker, it removes malware.

Old time uBlock origin user here. Adguard has done a great job adapting to new Chrome limitations, and they have been very transparent about what can be, and cannot be done.

New low with Adguard. I don't have many filters but when I went to add them, I received an error message saying "rule limits exceeded". More info: As per Manifest V3, your Chrome browser reacted by disabling all the extension's built-in filters except the default ones. From others, this is solely Adguard's doing wanting you to purchase a subscription. It's also allowing a lot of new cookie notifications where you are forced to review your preferences before moving forward. Basically. Adguard is reducing protection and more. Uninstalled.

Works as expected, blocks almost all ads. Can't say it's better than its competition as I've never tried anything else. Regardless, I'd still recommend it.

Does what it's meant to do. You won't be disappointed. When I open my pc I get adds, but then I reload the page and AdGuard AdBlocker wakes up. Nice try YouTube!
