As of today, hiding comments, doesn't work. Too bad.

Extension works great! No more exposure to hateful, ignorant, or bot generated comments that only serve to distract me from what really matters; my interest in the video itself. Close, but really, no cigar. My main interest was in disabling live chat, in particular in fullscreen. It does disable live chat, but in fullscreen, you're left with an empty black box on the right, with no way to close or dismiss it. This basically results in a degraded fullscreen experience.
