I really like how it does it's job, but I think an unintended side effect is not being able to mute tabs by right-clicking now. I have to solely use the extension, which I'm not sure if that's intended. I'll use it for now and hope it gets fixed later, but it's definitely not ideal to have to solely use this extension to mute tabs.
Freak'n Awesome! Exactly what I needed. You can (easly) set the short cut in (chrome) extensions manager and use the key board short cut to mute individual full screen windows (this helps if you have multiple vidoe feeds and you want to mute each one separately). BIG Thank you Ash Holland! (P.S. What's another word for donkey? --Marty Bass(see comment below) is just a dumb stupid Donkey Hole who doesn't know what it's talking about.)
Works well. Just wish it wasn't a necessary extension. Wish you could put it inside the tab's right-click menu rather than in the extension menu. (I assume this is part of the API limit that you talked about in your description). Well done on nice work on this extension.
This should not be necessary. It has worked for me so far. But developers should just enable muting using the tab. The one star is for "unnecessary" .
FYI - This extension is NOT currently needed as this feature was re-added back to Google Chrome in version 100 on March 29, 2022. On Chrome versions 100-135+ you can enable it by going to "chrome://flags" and changing "#enable-tab-audio-muting" to Enabled. It's true that this flag could be removed in the future, but I think it's unlikely within the next year. You can track the status of it here: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/q/tab+audio+muting
