Also needed as a-hole webmasters decide to lock the scroll bar, it's annoying having to go into a sites settings and disable JavaScript for each site that does this. No bookmarking or sharing for them from me! Jerks!
Works for what I need it for - to identify problems on a site by disabling JS. People have complained that it disables JS globally - but I don't think "site by site" is what this is aiming for. Its a "toggle it off to test" thing. Its for when you need to see how something works without JS if JS is causing it to fall over. You toggle it off - see what it's doing then when finished toggle it back on again. For THAT it works as it says on the tin. For a "turn JS off for this site" - its a different product that's needed - this doesnt do this but I don't think it claims it does either.
Disables JS for ALL sites (domains), not just the one you're currently on. This could easily be solved by maintaining a list/database of domains for which the user wants JS disabled, and only activating for those domains. As it is, this extension is basically pointless.
This might work for casual users, but for developers/power users it fails on the sites that need it most. Tested with a popular torrent site that is notorious for using JavaScript (the requirement to allow JavaScript) to get around both Ad Blockers as well 100% negating he basic chrome features that combined should not only block all popups, background windows opening, and intrusive/adult ads. Tested by blocking every setting except JavaScript, turning on this extension & giving it full permissions, and turning off all other adblockers. Instantly the site knew I was using a JavaScript manipulating extension. Tested additional times with varying combinations of top rated ad blockers & this extension combined. No change.
It works great but, as other says, I would make the icon more distinctive for on/off status.
Pas mal, mais en regardant l'icone : impossible de savoir si le JS est activé ou désactivé.
Does exactly what it says. Extremely useful just make the toggle icon larger (its harder to notice the status with just around 100 pixels of red)
Pros: - It does what it's supposed to. Cons: - Accessibility issue: the part of the icon that indicates if the extension is on or off is far too small.
Простой и эффективный переключатель: надо - включил, не надо - выключил javascript, работает в один клик.
