Best TTS. People are giving negative reviews because they are using it incorrectly. The correct way is to select the text, right-click, and then select "Talkie" from the menu (do not click the extension in the toolbar).This extension is the best; it’s open-source and free. I love it!
I select text and click the extension. It tells me to select text. Well, I have. It simply doesn't work. I never managed to make it read anything.

terrible you have to select text and it doesn't select well or scroll to allow selection of more than one scroll window. the worst of all extensions
