Normally love SP UNTIL got kicked off today because I use it too much???? Said I (resembled) a bot. Ha! retired 75 yr old artist looking at news, YT and FB. Suspicious behavior for a search engine that advertises itself as, "the world's most private...." Are you measuring me SP?

I like the search engine itself, but this extension is more or less useless: you can't set a custom url to save your settings without using cookies, but that's the only thing this extension would've been good for. It's a great idea, but it's a shame they didn't think of this.

I could not set it as my default search engine on a Chromebook. I'm going to compare search results, but will probably favor DuckDuckGo because of its private interface to AI.

Works in address bar, but New Tab does nothing - New Tab has blank page and no url. Have to instal New Tab Redirect extension.

Startpage is a decent private search engine, I've found it to be slower than DuckDuckGo but the quality of results (at least for me) is much better, and I'm willing to trade a little bit of speed for better results. However, one downside on Chrome specifically is that it changes the New Tab page to an empty page with nothing but shortcuts to your most frequently visited sites, and this page cannot be customised. This is the default new tab page for when you change your search engine to something other than Google on Chrome. I think Startpage should have a custom New Tab page for Chrome which has a Startpage search bar and contains some new tab customisation options - DuckDuckGo has one so there's no reason why Startpage can't. Writing this review in the hopes developers will see it and consider adding one. I will update my review to 5 stars if this happens - thank you!

Extension works for me in Brave. Search bar becomes Startpage which is the purpose.

Poor search results. Compare search results for 'DSCP_fix_enable' on startpage and ddg/brave/google/bing. I appreciate privacy, but quality results are a base requirement.
