Description

This App provides a dead simple way to generate QR-Codes from URLs, Text Messages, Phone Numbers, Free Text or Contacts (vCard). It also allows to scan/read QR Codes if a webcam is available. The QR Code Generator can now also generate Dynamic QR Codes. They refer to a static URL that hosts the actual content. So the content can be change after the QR Code has been printed. They also provide simple view statistics. Dynamic QR Codes can be created by signing in with a Google Account (Sign In->My Codes).

A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode that is readable by smartphones. It allows to encode over 4000 Characters in a two dimensional barcode. QR codes may be used to display text to the user, to open a URL, save a contact to the address book or to compose text messages.

To read QR codes with your smartphone, you need an appropriate software installed on your phone. For Android-based devices, you can use Barcode Scanner for example. Just search for it in the market. On iOS-Devices like iPhones, there are also QR Code readers available on the AppStore, for Example i-nigma. On Symbian devices, you can use Mobiletag barcodes reader for example.

To start the app after installing, open a new tab in Chrome; In the new tab pane you will see an new Icon. Click on the icon to start the app.

To use with other browsers, just open http://www.the-qrcode-generator.com/ directly.

Note that this Chrome App also allows to use the App offline. After opening it the first time with active internet connection it is made available for offline use.
