Description

What’s new in 2505.10

This release is compatible with ChromeOS versions 135, 136 and 137. This release addresses areas that improve overall performance and stability.

Fixed issues in 2505.10

  • When you use the session toolbar to extend the session to external monitors, one or more screens might appear dark. CVADHELP-28804

What’s new in 2505

  • Enhanced display control with multi-monitor selector using new toolbar Starting with version 2505, new options has been added under multi-monitor in the toolbar, which appears only when more than one screen is connected. The multi-monitor selector allows users to choose which displays to use in full-screen mode for desktop sessions only. This feature isn't applicable for seamless sessions or sessions that operate in Kiosk mode. As long as the layout remains the same at the client OS, it is remembered when you disconnect and reconnect to the same session. For more information, see Multi-monitor setups.

  • Improved video rendering in optimized Zoom sessions When you use the optimized Zoom experience on Citrix Workspace app for ChromeOS, you might have seen a thin grey border around the video feed, especially when moving other virtual apps like Notepad or MS Word over the Zoom window. Starting with version 2505, the grey border no longer appears. The system now renders only the unobstructed portion of the video, ensuring a seamless and professional visual experience during video calls. This enhancement improves video quality, eliminates distracting UI artifacts, and delivers a smoother user experience when multitasking in Zoom meetings.

  • Persistent auto USB redirection Starting with the 2505 version, USB devices now automatically redirect to the preferred virtual app based on server policy preferences. When you start multiple sessions, the USB device remains linked to your preferred application even when you launch numerous sessions. This ensures a consistent and seamless experience for users who rely on USB peripherals. Note: This feature is disabled by default.

Scanner redirection:

  • When you start scanning documents, scanning might intermittently fail with the error "Error accessing scanner " after a few successful scans. This issue disrupts the scanning workflow and requires you to reconnect or restart the scanner. HDX-82301
  • When you scan documents using a scanner connected to a ChromeOS device, the scanned image file size is larger compared to scanning from a Windows OS. This issue might affect storage and transfer efficiency for scanned documents. HDX-82899
  • When you start scanning on a ChromeOS device, scanner enumeration might intermittently fail to show all scanners connected to the device. This issue prevents you from accessing some scanners during scanning sessions.
  • When you finish scanning documents, the scanner app sometimes becomes unresponsive for about 30 seconds before closing. This delay disrupts workflow and slows down the scanning process.

Fixed issues in 2505

  • In a cloud setup, when you open a file stored in Google Drive using Citrix Workspace app for ChromeOS, the file type association (FTA) might not working reliably.
  • When establishing a direct VDA connection in the cloud, end users might experience a delay of approximately two minutes if any cloud connector is offline. In addition, a secondary window featuring a progress dialog opens and remains visible during the session launch. Note: The issue doesn't apply to the connections made through Citrix Gateway Service.
  • When you badge in or badge out quickly to the Citrix Workspace app for ChromeOS session, the session might intermittently fail to start. CVADHELP-27911
  • When you sign in to Citrix Workspace app with a store URL that uses an identity provider and redirections with MFA (such as Azure IdP), the Workspace app might not enumerate resources. CVADHELP-27934
  • In a Citrix Workspace app for ChromeOS session, when you use Disconnect or Sign out options, the Workspace app window stays open instead of closing automatically. This issue sometimes causes session roaming to fail. CVADHELP-27873
  • When you access certain links through the Workspace app Settings > About menu, you can bypass administrator-imposed URL restrictions by opening these links within the app. The issue is now resolved by opening these links in the system's default browser. CVADHELP-28123
  • When you start a session using Citrix Workspace app for ChromeOS on version 134 or later, a pop-up appears and requires user gesture to continue. The issue occurs after you remove external audio output devices or when system sounds play during the session launch. CVADHELP-28051
  • When you start a published app or desktop in Citrix Workspace app for ChromeOS on a VDA via IPv6, the session might fail to start. CVADHELP-27576

Known issues in 2505

  • There are no new known issues in this release.

Limitations

  • When you transfer files using Client Drive Mapping functionality from your local device to the VDA and conversely, data might get corrupted.
  • When you start a desktop session using Citrix Workspace app, green blocks are visible on the display screen that blocks the UI. The issue might occur when you move an application window inside the launched desktop.
