Some custom cell colors look a bit different, but nothing critical. Overall experience is much better than default.
I switch between Docs and Sheets a lot, and having both in dark mode just feels natural now. No more eye shock.
After enabling this, I accidentally opened Sheets without it once — and immediately noticed how bad the white looks.
You need to pay
Works for 3-4 hours and then somehow the "turn on" button switches off and doesn't respond to clicks at all. The only solution for me is removing it from extensions and then reinstalling it. I love the design but this bug is such a bummer.
Finally a dark theme that doesn’t break conditional formatting. That was always the deal breaker for me.
You can tell some thought went into this. Details matter, and here they’re handled well.
Overall just a nice quality-of-life improvement. Once you get used to it, there’s no going back.
No settings overload, which is actually nice. You install it and forget about it.
Not perfect in every single edge case, but honestly close enough. Much better than default.
It feels more like a native dark theme, not a hack. That's probably the best compliment i can give.
