PSA: DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE TRIAL PERIOD. This company will automatically charge you for their most expensive plan and won't provide a refund, even within 24 hours of the end of the trial period. It's a borderline scam and the product is not worth the money. Read the other bad reviews. Everyone agrees. Don't make the same mistake we made.
Why is it freemium!? Customization should be free, like how I customized Linux to look more premium than windows 7, for free.
Every feature is locked behind paywall. Completely useless
Plus rien ne fonctionne, tout devient payant alors que l'IA permet de créer son extension sur-mesure ? Non mais allô !
Has very limited free features, and most essential functionality requires a paid subscription. For simple CSS inspection, this makes it not very practical. There are better alternatives, for example CSS Peek: Element Inspector, which is completely free and offers more useful features than most subscription-based tools. Overall, CSS Peeper might be fine if you don’t mind paying, but if you’re looking for a powerful and free solution, there are clearly better options available.
Doesn't seem to do more than what the generic ones do except it seems to want to push retail on you from the get-go. For a paid version I would expect there'd be provided at least the same amount of information as the developer tools inspector gives, but that is not the case. What we need is one that can show where styles are defined, whether or not they are shadowed, and a list of local, inherited and calculated properties like devtools gives without needing to open devtools which is the whole reason I wanted something like this. Also a way to copy a unique but non-dynamic selector from a component would be nice.
Helpful, worth $3
The refund policy is very bad
CSS Peeper will transform the way designers and developers inspect website styles. With just a simple point and click, you can quickly view design properties, explore color palettes, review typography, and extract assets—no more digging through complex code. Pros: 1. Instant Style Inspection: See CSS properties in seconds without searching through code. 2. Color Palette Explorer: Easily browse and export color schemes you love. 3. Typography Details: Quickly check fonts and text styles across any site. 4. Asset Extraction: Download images and icons directly from web pages. 5. Accessibility Insights: Get tips on color contrast and readability to improve user experience. 6. Trusted by Thousands: Over 500,000 users, 4.2+ ratings on the Chrome Store and 60,000 average traffic on their website. Cons: - Limited to Chrome (no standalone app). - Advanced CSS customizations will require external tools, as this is built to know the styling. CSS Peeper is quite pleseant to work with and has improved my workflow. It’s fast, intuitive, and saves a lot of time. If you want to make design processes easier and more enjoyable, I highly recommend giving it a try!
Most tools I use offer at least a partial refund for accidental renewals, especially when you barely use the service. CSS Peeper doesn’t. Their strict “no refund” policy is outdated and unfair. Very disappointing.
This extension’s business model seems to depend on people forgetting to cancel the trial. Once you're charged, there’s absolutely no refund — even with almost zero usage. This is not fair or ethical in any way.
The way CSS Peeper handles trials and refunds is unacceptable. They make it extremely easy to get charged, but impossible to get your money back — even with minimal usage. This kind of behavior feels like taking advantage of users.
