The graceful organisms drifting in concert are a small group of Sea Nettles (Chrysaora species). From my long tenure observing marine life, I am consistently captivated by the collective motion of these animals. Their smooth, blue bells pulsate with a gentle rhythm, propelling them through the water in a coordinated, almost choreographed manner.
Trailing behind each bell is a magnificent display of long, ribbon-like tentacles and frilly oral arms. These structures, in a striking pale hue against the vibrant blue background, undulate with every movement. This elegant congregation of drifters showcases their simple yet incredibly effective design and highlights their beauty as they navigate the currents of their watery home.
